IASACT Reunion: Our First Centennial Celebration

The United Board’s Centennial is a multiyear celebration that offers multiple opportunities for us to connect with the many colleagues, supporters, and friends who are so important to our mission and programs. The Centennial was launched on July 5, 2019 at a reunion dinner to mark the fifteenth anniversary of the Institute for Advanced Study in Asian Cultures and Theologies (IASACT). IASACT is an annual summer institute that convenes young Asian scholars from a broad range of disciplines for a program of reflection, dialogue, and writing.

The IASACT reunion was a fitting occasion to launch the Centennial, as it reflected the United Board’s organization’s heritage and its outlook for the future. Among the 100 guests at the celebratory dinner were 60 IASACT alumni from across Asia, former and current advisory committee members and mentors, current and former staff, and friends and colleagues from theological and professional associations – in essence, a microcosm of the strength and vitality of the United Board’s network! All joined in toasting the United Board’s Centennial and its enduring commitment to whole person education.
